Medical Microneedling

Medical Microneedling – Restore, Refine, Rejuvenate

Medical microneedling is a clinically proven, minimally invasive treatment that stimulates your skin’s natural healing process to improve texture, tone, and overall skin quality. Using a device with fine, medical-grade needles, it creates tiny controlled micro-injuries in the skin, which trigger collagen and elastin production—key components for smooth, firm, youthful-looking skin.

What Can Microneedling Help With?
Microneedling is ideal for treating:
• Fine lines and early signs of ageing
• Enlarged pores
• Acne scarring and other mild to moderate scars
• Uneven skin tone and texture
• Dull or tired-looking skin
• Stretch marks (in some areas)
Results develop gradually as your skin repairs and regenerates, with minimal downtime. It’s suitable for most skin types and can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, and body.

What It Doesn’t Treat
While microneedling is excellent for boosting skin quality and treating superficial concerns, it is not effective for deeper dynamic wrinkles (caused by muscle movement), significant volume loss, or pigmentation disorders such as melasma. In these cases, we may recommend alternative or combination treatments for best results.
All treatments are carried out using medical-grade equipment and protocols, under the care of Dr Claire.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the treatment take?

A typical microneedling session takes around 60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. This includes time for a full consultation, skin preparation, and application of a topical numbing cream for comfort.

Does microneedling hurt?

Most people find the treatment very tolerable. A topical anaesthetic is applied beforehand to minimise any discomfort. You may feel a slight scratching or prickling sensation in some areas, but it’s generally not painful.

What is the downtime after microneedling?

Downtime is usually minimal. You may experience redness, mild swelling, or a sunburn-like feeling for 24–48 hours after treatment. Most people return to normal activities within a day. Light flaking or dryness can occur as the skin renews itself over the following few days.

What are the potential side effects?

Microneedling is a safe procedure when performed by trained professionals. Temporary side effects can include:
• Redness
• Swelling
• Pinpoint bleeding
• Mild sensitivity or tightness
• Light bruising (occasionally)

Rare side effects (especially with improper aftercare) can include infection or post-inflammatory pigmentation. We provide full aftercare instructions to minimise any risks.

When will I see results?

You may notice an initial glow within a few days, but the most visible improvements usually develop gradually over 4 to 6 weeks as collagen production increases and the skin renews itself.

How many sessions will I need?

For best results, a course of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is typically recommended, depending on your skin goals. Some people see improvements after a single session, especially for skin texture and glow.

Can microneedling be combined with other treatments?

Yes. Microneedling pairs well with treatments like medical-grade serums, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), or LED light therapy for enhanced results. We’ll guide you on the best combination for your skin concerns.
